EMT-Intermediate
The EMT Intermediate class prepares EMT Basics to take the next step in providing advanced emergency care to the victims of accidents or illness. Through performance of in depth assessments and providing additional skills with administration of advanced life support medications, they can reduce mortality and morbidity in the pre-hospital setting.
The course follows the DOT curriculum as outlined by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and prepares students to successfully complete testing to be recognized as an Intermediate EMT. 54 hours of instruction and intensive hands-on experiences give the student confidence in caring for patients and an insight into the fragile nature of life.
